URBAN INFILL PLANNING GROUP MINUTES:
Minutes of meeting

The meeting
opened with a review of the draft Miami River Corridor Urban Infill and
Redevelopment Planning Initiative Work Plan, prepared by Sara Ingle,
City of Miami. Discussion
ensued regarding the posting of Urban Infill information on a web site
in order to keep it publicly accessible. Clark Turner, City of Miami stated the importance of new
schools in the Miami River Corridor Urban Infill area.
Brett Bibeau
stated he was completing the Empowerment Trust RFP to partially fund the
Miami River Corridor Urban Infill Plan.
The deadline is March 9. In
addition Bibeau stated he would pursue the Department of Community
Affairs grant requirement of a Memorandum of Understanding with the
Miami-Dade School Board. The Miami River Commission is willing to provide their
$10,000 allocation to contract a professional planner to start working
on the Miami River Corridor Urban Infill Plan.
As the additional funding sources become available, they will be
allocated to the already contracted professional planner.
The next meting
of the Miami River Commission Urban Infill Working Group was scheduled
for Wednesday, March 21, 9 am, 444 SW 2nd Ave, 3rd
floor conference room.
